Maestro Tony Delgado.

I finally convinced my best friend Tony Delgado to come in for a portrait session.
Tony is a conductor of international level right now directing the NB Youth Orchestra and El Sistema.

Quote from the NBYO website:
"...the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra has a secret Venezuelan weapon, the conductor Antonio Delgado, himself a product of El Sistema, who left his position as musical director of the Teresa Carreno Theatre in his homeland to settle in New Brunswick in 2010 and direct both the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra and its Sistema project."

His talent and passion for music can not be described in wards. You must hear him and you must see him conducting!

Few more images will be added to this post later.

The Wedding Album of the Year Award. PPOC Convention, Halifax 2012

I just got back from my first PPOC national convention which was hosted by Halifax, NS and I must say that it has been amazing 5 days for me. It was very educational and inspiring experience.
I was happy to meet many other colleagues from across Canada and hopefully future friends.

And I thought that it could't get any better until the award banquet night, which made this convention especially remarkable for me - my wedding album "KATIE & JESSE", which received the reward of "Merit" at this year's image salon,  also received "The Wedding Album of the Year" award!

Thank you PPOC!

P.S. Complete album design is on the website

Portrait of a musician. Gregory Parra. Clarinete & Saxofon.

Gregory is a clarinet and saxofon player who recently moved to Moncton to teach kids play at el Sistema (if you don't know what Sistema is, then look it up, it's an amazing after school music program for kids here in our town).

Gregory came in for a photo shoot the other day. He is a very interesting character.  There is this very positive energy just purring out of him,  and I was thrilled to photograph him. The session was very relaxed and we got some very good shots.

Wedding Album wins award of Merit at PPOC National Image Salon 2012.

This was my second time participating in the PPOC national print competition, and this year I decided to enter a wedding album.

The album is from Katie&Jesse's wedding. It's one of my favourite weddings and I felt really confident submitting this design.  Out of 4 submitted images and 1 wedding album, the album had most success. The judging was very tough this year, and the judges were very hard to impress. As a result - 2 portraits were accepted and the album received "Wedding Album of the Year" award.

The digital version of the entire album design in high resolution is now available on my WEBSITE.

About the album:
12"x12" Soho Book
White Gramercy leather.
44 pages (22 spreads).
(in the photo below compared to 10"x10" Soho, Black Gramercy leather cover
